2010 has been a busy year! I'm looking forward to the premier of 'Mam' - Hugo Speers directorial debut. We had a great cast of under 11's who all had a ball on set. This week sees rehearsals start for director Laura Stevens, Artistic Director of Manhattan Children's Theatre who asked us to cast her lastest show with Northern actors!
Other theatre work included a reading of 'Scarborough Fair' for an audience of London producers. Thanks to Heather Peace, Russell Tovey, Sally Bankes, Chris Villiers and Rupert Vansittart who were some of the actors involved on the day.
We've worked with good friend and director Matt Bloom on several projects, the latest of which is 'Endless' a horror short using revolutionary technology.
I'll be busy developing a feature film - 'The Castles of Beachcombe Bay' for director Kate Robinson.
Happy New Year! 2010 has seen NSC finish the casting on 'Mam', a short film with a great script by Vivienne Harvey to be directed by Hugo Speer. I loved the casting process on this one, children again - starting to feel like the Pied Piper! But I'm really excited about the cast of young newcomers we've found and can't wait to nip to the set in February and watch them at work!
December saw me helping out at the TLA Academy Christmas show - a cast of 3-12 year olds really got me into the Christmas spirit and again some amazing young talent there.
Back to it now and developing a string of projects for Geoff Atkinson at Vera Productions - watch this space!
Well the Chuckle Vision project for CBBC was a lot of fun and the producers were really impressed with the level of boys we saw.
Due to popular demand of the 2 day Acting & Audition workshops,Tonicha and myself will be arranging an additional one in October. The August one is fully booked so please contact us early to register for the October one. We'll also be going on tour with it and heading to London in Novembe! Again please register early for this as places are already booking up and we're really looking forward to it.
Please check back later this month for news on forthcoming theatre and TV projetcs.
And finally, if you're a Northern actor I've not met yet - get in touch with your cv...I want to know every actor in The North by the end of the year!
